Vasona Park
I love my Rollei Zeiss Distagon 35 f/1.4! It’s been glued to my camera ever since I got it back from being serviced. It’s such a fun lens to use and renders images unlike any other lens I’ve ever used. The wide open performance in particular on this thing is absolutely incredible. This outing was simply an excuse to use this beauty. I initially wanted to see how this lens would perform in landscape situations but we got a little of a late start and got to the park after the sun had dipped below the hills. So instead I shot some details of the park.
Our Del Sol Underwater Cenote Trash The Dress
We knew from the very start when we decided to have our wedding in Playa Del Carmen that we absolutely had to do an underwater cenote trash the dress shoot with Del Sol Photography. After all the pictures that we saw from them were a big selling point in us choosing Playa for our destination! The pictures were so unique and beautiful that we just had to have them for ourselves. A cenote was so unique to the area that we knew we would never have another opportunity to do this again.
Rain of Fire | Light Painting
One of my good friends Jon and I have always talked about going to each other’s houses to practice photo techniques. This past Friday we decided to finally make it happen and practice some light painting. Jon’s been into light painting for a while so he has an assortment of lights to use. We decided to just practice the techniques in his backyard so later we can bring them to more exotic locations. Chau and I came over armed with our camera, flashes, and sparklers for a fun filled night with Jon and his wife Kelly.
Chau’s dress… retrashed
This shoot is part of our effort to get our butts out of the house and take some pictures. We had already trashed Chau's dress in Mexico with our fabulous photographers Sol Tamargo and Matt Adcock of Del Sol Photography so we figured since the dress had already been trashed why don't we just trash it again =]. However I'm not satisfied that we trashed Chau's dress enough (we didn't get her wet) so we might go out again sometime in the near future. We've been on a mission lately to try to find places for shoots away from the obvious spots.
We’re Married!
Over March Chau and I finally got married! We had our wedding in beautiful Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. The way we chose Playa Del Carmen as our destination was a little reckless however. We had never been to Playa so we completely went into this blindly. We decided to do a destination wedding after looking at a few places around the Bay Area and not being satisfied with any venues that could hold a large crowd. Coming from Vietnamese families our guest list was getting out of hand and we quickly realized if we had our wedding in the Bay we wouldn’t be able to do it how we wanted.
