Amy and Allen | Engagement
Here is Amy and Allen. We had the honor of doing an engagement shoot for them this past weekend. We absolutely loved shooting and just hanging out with them in general, they’re great people to be around. They had been dating for 8 years before Allen popped the big question just a few months back. Now they’re going through what Chau and I went through not too long ago. So many decisions to make and so many things to do. It’s such an exciting (and stressful I’m sure!) time for them and we’re glad that we can give them some pictures that captured this part of their lives. Please enjoy these photos of the newly engaged and beautiful couple!
Lucy and Chris | Engagement
Last Sunday we had the pleasure of doing an engagement shoot with Lucy and Chris. They’re a wonderfully cute couple and came prepared with multiple outfits and a bunch of enthusiasm. We absolutely loved shooting them! We love it when couples are as enthusiastic as we are about taking photos, it really makes the experience that much more enjoyable. The time really flew by during this shoot.
We did this shoot at an old abandoned train tunnel from the late 1800’s that Chau and I had scouted out before. It turned out to be a FANTASTIC place! I could shoot here for hours which unfortunately we didn’t get because we got the boot from a nosy security guard passing through. That didn’t discourage us from coming back for a quick 15 minutes in the tunnel after she left though =]. This place is really awesome because the age shows throughout the area. You can find remnants of the old train station that used to lie here scattered throughout. The streams and mini waterfalls here are also gorgeous. This place is definitely in my list of top 5 places to shoot in the Bay Area.
This is right outside the tunnel.
We ran back into the tunnel with minimal gear for a quick 15 minutes to get a few quick shots here. I just couldn’t get myself to leave without getting some pics inside the tunnel!
Vasona Park
I love my Rollei Zeiss Distagon 35 f/1.4! It’s been glued to my camera ever since I got it back from being serviced. It’s such a fun lens to use and renders images unlike any other lens I’ve ever used. The wide open performance in particular on this thing is absolutely incredible. This outing was simply an excuse to use this beauty. I initially wanted to see how this lens would perform in landscape situations but we got a little of a late start and got to the park after the sun had dipped below the hills. So instead I shot some details of the park.
Evan | Infant
Meet Evan, our friends Chrissie and Ryan’s newest member of their family. We were suppose to actually do a maternity shoot for Ryan and Chrissie but Evan proved to be impatient and decided to show himself to the world a month early. This was the first time I’d seen Evan and I was blown away how much he looked like Ryan. I kept seeing Ryan’s face through my viewfinder the entire shoot!
Our Del Sol Underwater Cenote Trash The Dress
We knew from the very start when we decided to have our wedding in Playa Del Carmen that we absolutely had to do an underwater cenote trash the dress shoot with Del Sol Photography. After all the pictures that we saw from them were a big selling point in us choosing Playa for our destination! The pictures were so unique and beautiful that we just had to have them for ourselves. A cenote was so unique to the area that we knew we would never have another opportunity to do this again.
